Q. How much is required to open a Membership?

A. $25.00 is needed to open a Membership, which is a Savings account. You are not required to fund the account at the same time you open your membership, but you should set up direct deposit from Payroll so that your account is funded within 20 days.

Q. Why do I need a Savings account when I only want Checking?

A. Your Membership account is a Saving account that makes you eligible for all the other products and services offered by HEBFCU. All Members of HEBFCU have a Membership account in addition to any other accounts with the credit union.

Q. Do I have to work for H-E-B in order to join and stay with H-E-B Federal Credit Union?

A. Partners of H-E-B and their immediate family members can join HEBFCU. If you leave H-E-B after joining the Credit Union, you can keep your membership at HEBFCU as long as your account is in good standing.

Q. Is there a penalty for closing my Membership with HEBFCU?

A. If you close your membership within six months of the opening date, there is a $25.00 fee.
